Kenneth L. Sonnenfeld

Kenneth Lee Sonnenfeld, Sr., age 75, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN of complications due to cancer.  He was born on September 19, 1941 in Java, SD to Emil L. and Erna M. (Oster) Sonnenfeld.

Ken grew up in Java, SD.  He graduated from Pierre High School in Pierre, SD in 1960.  After graduation he worked on the Big Bend Dam and the Oahe Dam.  He moved to Worthington, MN in 1965 and began a 20 year career at Armour's Meat Packing Plant.  After his time at the plant, he becamr a truck driver for MCT trucking out of Sioux Falls, where he soon became an over the road instructor to the recent graduates of MCT.  He had recently been driving for the DeGroot's. the Luinenberg's and Dean Dexter of Worthington, MN.

Ken was a charter member of the Eagle's Club in Worthington, MN and a member and sponsor of Worthington's AA club.  He was a great friend and true to those who he knew and loved.  He enjoyed travel, skiing, collecting, auctions, garage sales and stock car races.

Ken is survived by his son, Ken (Rhonda) Sonnenfeld Jr. of Oak Grove, MN; his sister Annetta (David) Munger of Knoxville, TN; grandsons, Cody Sonnenfeld and Keegan Sonnenfeld, and niece and nephews, Jeff Schumacher, Joel Schumacher, Jon Schumacher, Julie Otterness, and Lance D. Munger.

Ken was preceeded in death by his parents, Emil and Erna Sonnenfeld and sister, Loretta Schumacher.
